Peter, the Animal Shelter Society’s Pet of the Week

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week is Peter.

Peter has been working at the animal shelter for almost a year now and is ready to join his new family. He is two years old and has a lot of energy.

“He will be monitored in the app so he is not at home with other dogs. He is selective about dogs and we would not recommend cats. He has no problem with children or pets. adults, but he has a very high energy, so we need to keep that in mind during the adoption process,” said April Cohagen-Gibson, Executive Director of the Animal Shelter Society.

Since Peter is a selective dog, the Animal Shelter Society requires the entire family and all other pets in the household to come to the shelter for a meet and greet.

“But he’s a great dog. The Pitbull has a really bad reputation, but he’s a very affectionate and grateful dog. So he would make a great addition to someone’s home. We just have to be selective,” said said Cohagen-Gibson.

The animal shelter is gearing up for two fundraising events. Next Monday they will be honoring Betty White’s 100th birthday where the community can make donations through the website or Facebook page. Cohagen-Gibson would like the community to also keep an eye out for their upcoming annual Yappy Hour fundraiser in April, which will be held at Zanesville Country Club.
