Petco Love donates $50,000 to support Orange County Animal Services – WFTV

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County Animal Services received a large donation this week to support its animal rescue work in the Orlando area.

National nonprofit organization Petco Love presented a $50,000 grant to Orange County Animal Services in front of an Orlando Petco site.

“Our investment in Orange County Animal Services is part of more than $15 million in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to creating a future in which no animals are left. unnecessarily euthanized,” said Susanne Kogut. , president of Petco Love.

Animal Services is the only open-admission municipal pet shelter serving the Orange County area.

In fiscal year 2021, the shelter received 13,527 animals and was able to achieve a live release rate of 96% for dogs and 88% for cats, for a combined total live release rate of 91%.

“This grant from Petco Love will help fund spay/neuter services for eligible low-income residents of Orange County and help provide financial support to adopters who have fostered dogs with heartworm disease,” said Diane Summers, manager of Orange County Animal Services.

Petco Love was founded in 1999 and has invested approximately $330 million in adoption and other rescue efforts.
