The Fayetteville Animal Shelter will be offering free adult dog adoptions through June 11.
The shelter currently houses about 20 adoptable dogs, officials said, and has decided to offer free adoptions to make room for newcomers.
“We have dogs who have been waiting a long time for that perfect person to come through the doors, and we want to make adoption everyone’s first choice,” said Valerie Gray, shelter attendant in charge of adoptable dogs. “We spend so many hours with these dogs and get to know them so well.”
All available dogs and puppies will be neutered or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated before going home to their new owners.
The adoption process begins online with an application form. Once approved, applicants are invited to visit the shelter and choose a dog.
The shelter is located at 1640 S. Armstrong Ave. and is open 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
