Animal Rescue League is hosting a free adoption event

The Berks County Animal Rescue League is participating in Saturday’s NBCUniversal 2022 Clean the shelters pet adoption event.

All cats and dogs over the age of 6 months will be free to adopt from the Cumru Township Shelter at 58 Kennel Road.

Potential adopters must come to www.berksarl.org/hello when they arrive. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the ARL will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a waitlist closing at 4:30 p.m.

No appointment is necessary.

All adopters must go through the ARL Regular Procedures to Adoptincluding establishing an adoption profile and speaking with an adoption counselor.

The ARL suggests that all family members and existing dogs in the home come meet potential new canine family members.

Dog adopters must bring a leash and collar (or buy one there) and must also bring $7 cash or a check for a Pennsylvania dog license, which is required by law.

Cat adopters must bring a carrier or can purchase one from the ARL for $5.

This is the eighth year that stations owned by NBC and Telemundo have partnered with animal shelters and rescues across the country to promote pet adoption and help raise funds to support welfare. to be animals.
